From the East

Greetings Brethren! There are many of you who I am sure that do not recognize my name. I became a Master Mason in 1991. My attendance at Lodge was always irregular to say the least. I joined the fraternity because I wanted to be part of something that was bigger than I was and I sat on the side lines waiting for that to happen. I was convinced that by paying dues and proving up that I would automatically become a positive influence in our committee. That just did not happen.

Two years ago a Brother convinced me to come back to Lodge and not only attend but to participate. I took a chair and although I was sure I was much too busy to become too involved, I started raising my hand to help. The more I participated the more people I met. The light went on. Our Fraternity offers a wealth of opportunities to participate in, from youth groups, maintaining our park, social events, putting on degrees, mentoring, a whole bunch of history buffs to argue with and should you identify a need, you will find brothers who will share your vision, if you lead the way. After all, the goal of Freemasons is to rise above the level of the mundane and take a leadership role.

If you have been thinking of coming back to Lodge, now is the time, you can never have too many Brothers.

Coming this month, WB Hernan’s Gala South of the Border New Years Celebration and potluck.

Stated meeting 12/14/08

Special 12/28/08- Conferral of the First Degree

We have been kicking around a lot of ideas for raising funds to boost our scholarship program. If you have experience with this kind of endeavor, we could use your help. Thanks.
